We The Prisons is an independent publication launched in March 2025 by Tim Sanders.

Is this what America is all about? Has imprisonment been embedded in our national psyche for centuries, even since the founding? Can we break free from our carceral way of thinking?

Through a series of blog entries and articles, this project aspires to offer a clear eyed assessment of where we stand, and to understand the deep and pernicious roots of our collective incarceration mentality.
